For some, gliding over a smooth ice surface on steel-bladed skates is a form of exercise or recreation but for others it’s a highly competitive sport. No matter the reason, the feeling you can get from the activity is adrenaline rushing! This seasonal winter activity is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. We’ve gathered a list of where to go ice skating around Austin this holiday season.

Bee Cave on Ice

Enjoy the year's coolest holiday attraction at the Hill Country Galleria. Now through January 15, book a 60-minute ice skating session at their large and festive rink. Reservations for ice skating are strongly encouraged.

Chaparral Ice & Field

This year-round ice skating rink is the perfect place to show off your skills or gain some new ones during this Christmas season. Chaparral Ice and Field is a premier facility that offers ice skating, figure skating, ice hockey, curling and much more. Public skating and adult only skating is offered almost every day with daily admission and skate rental charges. View their schedule here to plan your visit.

Ice Rink at the Long Center

Skate under dazzling lights with one of the best views of the Austin skyline at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Feeling chilly? Warm up with a cup of cocoa or a hot toddy, popcorn and holiday cookies. The rink is open the entire month of December from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and reservations are recommended.

Ice Rodeo

Four Seasons Austin has brought back their Ice Rodeo for the 2023 season, through January 7. Ice skate on a real-ice outdoor rink overlooking Lady Bird Lake alongside larger-than-life decor and holiday art installations. If you're looking for something more intimate, book one of their luxe lakeside "cabins" where you can gather over festive bites and drinks.
